What would you estimate the total build cost to be on a 4x4 dry table, once completed and ready to work ? (less the plasma cutter)

Could I use my HF PP60 or would the HF cause too many problems ?

I would say $1300. with new materials, if you have some material you can use that will bring it down. I bought a refurb PC to run mine if you have one you can use thats more you can save. On my third table I bought the motors, drivers, and power supplies from china and saved another $100.
Go for it you won't look back.

You can use Mach 3 and sheetcam free for cutting small parts up to 150 lines of code. The license cost about $150 to $175 each. I use my everlast PM256 for a short time on my first table.
I used it to cut the parts for the second table development until I got a straight plasma unit. I would check with Everlast about your Power Plasma 60.

I ordered the plans from Tom and for the $20 you get that just in cd's. Lots of pictures and enough drawings to get'er done. Unless you have lots of time I would suggest getting the pre-cut parts. Took me several days to figure out a wood pattern to cut some of the parts. The rest were rough cut and then finished in a mill.....aka a bit slower then full plasma cut parts. There are a few changes I would make if I did it again but they are just nit picky things like a 1/4" more here or a slight shift of part there.

Ordered the plans mid Dec., base is done, x and y mounted, and electronics test wired and running on my desk. Surplus center is slow so today I will work on the Y drive and maybe the z lead screw.

Glad to hear you are making a few bucks here and there to help out with the hobbies. I work with a guy who developed a fairly extensive set of build/fab plans for some personal tracked vehicles that he sells on ebay. He makes out pretty well with them.
