Thread: Pics of New Foot pedal and new Tig Torches

  1. Default Pics of New Foot pedal and new Tig Torches

So I ordered my Powertig 185 and it's scheduled to be here on Friday the 27th. If UPS does not screw the pooch. I call them Universal Package Smashers here. We don't get a box from them that you can take inside the house. Filthy dirty, footprints, busted or crushed boxes, leave stuff by the garage because the driver is too lazy to walk the 20 feet to the front door. I prefer and use FedEx Ground for all my shipping and have had MUCH better service. You would think with UPS being an Atlanta based company I would get better service. Whoops, ADD kicking in, off target again.

Can someone post pics of the New Everlast Foot Pedal vrs the Old Everlast Foot Pedal. Oleg said it is a much better pedal than their original. I would love to see pics of the outside and the inside if anyone has one. Also, it is supposed to come with their new superflex cable and the handle is a CK style. The 17SR is the model number he gave me. I ordered mine with the foot pedal, so I think it comes with the foot pedal and the torch switch since the base model is a torch switch (correct?)

Same, I would love to see pics of the old and new torches as well as the switch.

Anyone know if it comes with a torch cover (not sure what you call it, but the sheath that the gas line and electric line go in to keep them from abrading).

    Thanks

Hi Glenn, I believe I have the new style foot pedal but haven't taken it apart yet. I can take a picture and post up later. From the ~2 hours or so I've been using my 250EX, all I can say so far is that the first bit of travel on the pedal activates the start switch and then the adjustment pot engages.

I have the SR18 water-cooled torch and it came with a denim zippered sheath. I've never TIG welded before today so I can't compare to other torches. I will say that even with the water cooled lines, the torch lines are plenty flexible for my needs.

Thank you very much for the pic and even the inside pics. That's awesome. The new pedal is deff an improvement on the old. No belt and cog system, so it should be more robust and only be able to slip if damaged.

Here is the new pedal and the new 17 Torch SR 17 is the model number of the Torch, the pedal is exactly like the new one posted above. No gear and belt system.

Now all you have to do is put it altogether and start welding and put some pictures on the forum.
    GOOD LUCK with the system.

Done some 1/8" steel already, gotta get some aluminum to try out.

    Love it so far.

Can you run the new pedal on the older machines? My pedal only works if pressed all the way down. How much is just a new pedal?
