Hi... My name is Lou, and I am an alcholi............... oops, wrong Forum.
Anyhow, new to Everlast products, just bought a Superultra 205 until the new Powerultra 205s arrive. Will help me work on projects, along with a Lincoln weldpak 180 / spoolgun, and a 2 post lift in the garage. Should be able to do pretty much everything now. Will post pics soon. Looking forward to getting a discussion going about welding aluminum DC Tig.

    Welcome to the forum Lou.

Aluminum DC TIG with helium is not a very common process for the hobbyist. The much more common process is AC TIG with argon.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

I know, can also use straight argon. Main thing is clean, clean, clean. Would like to see this discussion continue in the proper area and see other peoples opinions

I tried it and it works but I did use 100% Argon with my 255EXT it is hard to see the puddle, you need to use a special lens on the helmet to see it. I used a cobalt blue inside mine to help. When I tried it with 100% Helium it was a lot easer to see the puddle. My 255EXT works very well on aluminum using AC. It was the old way DC on aluminum that is why the called it Heliarc. Welcome to the form also.
