Thread: Got my new PM256

  1. Default Got my new PM256

Well got home from work last night, wired it up and hooked up the stick clamp and did a little bit of sitck welding. Works pretty good, tonight after work ill test plasma cutting and tomorow im picking up my argon tank and ill start tig welding this weekend. So fas i am impressed with the machine. I have never been that great at stick welding but i always tried to blam it on the equipment, and i think i was right with the 256 my weld was a lot better and looked half way decent too. that old buzz box is getting hid out in the shed. It almost looked as good as my mig welding.

The only bad thing i have to say is the instructions, i dont mean to offend anyone but they are bad. Im no english expert but i can tell you that if this was turned into my college english teacher she would fail the paper with out reading anymore then the first paragraph. I almost want to say this was originaly typed up in another language and then someone used bable fish to translate it into english.

So far the only let down has been the instructions, ill keep you posted on the rest!

    Tall guy,

We keep posting this information here and elsewhere. I guess you missed it...but the instruction manual for the welder is on the site. The pamphlet in the box is there for shipping only into the US. The real manual is online here:

Used the plasma last night Worked perfect.

Went to start seting up my tig, hooked up my water cooler setup to ckech for proper flow... big suppries when water started shooting out the back of my machine. after some looking realized that the tubes in the handle are messed up..... grrr.

I guess ill see what i can do to fix it but thats down right sad.

Its not the tubes in the handle.
Its simply the nipple is in the wrong hose. There are some service memos about it here. Cut the clamp and swap it over to the argon line. Reclamp it with a standard hose clamp. Do NOT change the lines inside the torch!
