Default Dne' here, again!;) PU205 problem

Hi, I posted on here a seemingly long time ago, but nonetheless, I wouldn't expect anyone to remember me.
I have a story~ I bought the welder in the picture below through Everlast a few years ago, either 2011 or 2012. The PU205 didn't last long at all, I shipped it back after tech said so. Cost me 80 bucks in S/H and another 39.oo to get it back again. The second welder, the plasma cutter died shortly after only one cut. Tech said I needed another plasma cutter lead/gun at 118.oo, but not covered by warranty, but I did discuss returning it and upgrading for a plasma cutter as the 5 year warranty would pay me what I bought it for. I decided not, and just parked my PU205 in a corner of my garage. Today I had the urge to contact Everlast again, I'd like to get the plasma cutter going! Ray, as nice as he is, didn't recognize this welder, and I bought it through him, and spoke to him numerous times. I didn't expect him to remember a woman calling him
Now I'm hurt that I may have been sold an 800 dollar boat anchor and that Ray didn't recognize it. Since it has a 5 year warranty, I'm waiting for Everlast returns/shipping to call me so I can find out the date that I purchased it. I'd like just a plasma cutter, not this 3 way thing. I hope someone with some clout reads this and offers some advice.

I'm a diy woman, and I know how to weld. Just fix me up would you!

You wouldn't have bought this through Ray as he was in Alaska at the time you purchased it and sold them locally in AK...unless you bought it there. That's a 2009 or 2010 model, pre Ray.

Looks like your pilot arc lug is missing the screw nut for the plasma.

Hm, I had been communicating with him through Ray@everlastgenerators.com, which I've found out today that email account is no longer good. He did ask if I had bought it from Alaska~ why would I even know that? I'm sure that I bought it in late 2010, I hope to find out tomorrow. But I did communicate with him many times. He talked me into this model welding system that fit my wants. 800.oo was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but if it had worked, it would have been OK. But it never performed for me. I'll email Ray at the new address and find out a little more. What is a pilot arc screw? If it's the nut with the hose for the argon, it's in the garage. I'd like to have a happy ending with this~ I put it off way too long to get this fixed, personally, thinking how I was going to take this to the dump without my husband knowing~ it wouldn't be worth 100 bucks on CL even though it looks new as it's hardly been used, then buying plasma cutter! lol
Tomorrow's another day~ I just wish Ray would have remembered me~ maybe there is another Ray!

The content of an email with Ray as there are many: I can't put the actual email here, but I'll forward it to Ray tomorrow to illustrate to him I'm not wacky!

Below is when I was trying to find out why my welder wasn't working. It was on 9-16-11. I have all the records on email when I was conversing with Ray.

Again, Ray wasn't anywhere but Alaska and could not sell outside of the state of Alaska. Something isn't right. Are you sure you didn't deal with another guy named Richard? He has relatives in TX that sell Everlast product. That's a 4 year old unit roughly. Ray was just getting started selling in 2010 for Everlast. Again, it's pretty much impossible. If it came from California, it definitely was NOT ray.

If you look, that place that says pilot arc is where your torch connects. It has a thumb screw that must be attached to that terminal for the torch to work. Which torch do you have? It looks like you possibly have the wrong plasma torch for the unit. The older units like that were HF and not like the one in the picture. During the swap out, you may have kept your torch or something. Some units had the 45 while the original units had an AG60. If the unit was sent out and back, it could have been replaced with a refurbished unit at that time which used the different torch. Also Ray was not in tech support until last year...actually 2012

Can you tell me what is happening or not happening?

There is also an inspection sticker on the rear in yellow that should have a date. Upgrades are only good for 6 months after purchase. Torch warranty is 6 months.

    Default Back in Action!

Yesterday I received my torch lead that Mark had figured I must have the incorrect one and got one in the mail to me. I put it to use today by cutting up metal(angle iron) to make my Jack stand racks. The plasma cut wonderfully and cut my work time considerably cause I was going to use my sawzall to cut the angles, etc. IT was so nice having my little machine working again!

A big thanks to you Mark!
