  1. Default PP256 High-Freq. wont turn off!!!

    Hello guys!

Was fabricating parts in the shop today and pulled out the PP256 to weld them up. When I hit the power switch on the rear the usual buzzing of the HF points stayed on constantly. I unplugged everything and messed with setting on the front. Dial wont change amps. Its acting like the pedal is activated.... but its not. I even unplugged its completely and still getting same results. I can peek thru the front cover and see the HF points arcing...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, need to get these parts made.

    Thanks

Just took the side cover off. Nothing really not pops out at me.

Today was the day I was going to use the Plasma for the first time ever...... I was building a mount for my motor-guard air dryer, was about to weld tabs on the mount and cant use my welder or the plasma so bummed.

Found a thread from a few years ago, something to do with a relay welding itself together. I know my unit is the newer 2013 model, does my unit have this same relay that the pre-2013 machines had?

I will give Mark a call tomorrow if I can make it back to the house during their working hours. I know the Everlast crew will treat me right just like they did before!

Power off the machine and let it sit for a couple minutes. Pop the cover from the rear. Make sure the points are .030 - .035 range. Ohn across pin 1 and 2 of the pedal/torch control as well. Make sure it is open. All with no power of course.

I checked points when I pulled cover yesterday. They were set at 0.030". I will take an ohm reading when I get home today and give yall a call.

    Thanks

Well Ray and I couldn't fix the issue over the phone. I get the joy of mailing my welder back to Ray to have him fix it. Going to cost around $200 in shipping to get it there and back, kinda wish I would have went with the 250EX instead of the multi-process unit. I guess I can hope for the best and hope to not have any more issues.
