Amps not showing up on display properly!

Hi - I have a MTS 210s machine. I was tig welding today and burned a big hole through the work. I looked at the machine's amperage reading and it was around 40 or so. I turned the amp knob down and the Amps reading dropped to around 25-30 and I started welding again. The next time I looked at the Amps reading it was around 60.

After welding for awhile I noticed that the amperage reading did change when I turned the knob, and other times it wouldn't read anything above 40. I am confused.

So, it seems that the Amps knob is working, but the display is not? Can anyone help me with this?

I have the MTS250S the Synergic multi-process machine will over ride the setting trying to make up for the changes in the welding, as you lift and make the arc larger or smaller it will put out more power or less power the volts will change and the amps also. When I weld with mine, my son said the amps and volts move up and down but I don't notice the change when I am welding it moves around a lot when I am Mig welding but the welds are very nice I set the volts and amps to what I need to get it working the machine dose the rest my son said when I Mig weld the volt and amps go a lot higher and lower then I set them to.
Hope the machine is working right the Synergic multi-process welder are a very nice welder.
