Thread: Quick question regarding Powerplasma 50

  1. Default Quick question regarding Powerplasma 50

    Hi,

I recently bought a PP50 and wondering if the fan is meant to run constantly?

Not sure if I remember correctly but I thought when I first tried it out a few weeks ago, I'm sure the fan only came on after the first few cuts. I remember waiting around for the fan to stop before switching it off at the wall however it never did.

Fan comes on and stays on as soon as I switch the machine on now, is this normal?

Other than that it cuts like a champ !!!!

    P.S. Why didn't I buy a plasma years ago......

The fan runs constantly on every Everlast machine that I know of. This gives a higher duty cycle.

Ok cool. Good to know, must have just been my imagination, swore it was the fan starting up while I was cutting when I first tried it. Then again might have confused it with a distant air compressor starting.

Probably the compressor. If you scan the forum people complain about the fan on all the time and the noise, but better a working welder/cutter that way

The fans on all my Everlast machines do run all the time, but I just have not figured out the system of high noise and lower noise fans the MTS250S is low noise fan and the 255EXT and 250EX is loud but it is to do with the duty cycle but the iMig 250 is loud and its duty cycle is the same as the MTS250S with a low noise fan.
