Thread: My torch handle connections loose?

Default My torch handle connections loose?

    Hi,
Just connected my Cut50 and couldn't get it to start air or cutting unless I lifted the cord just as it enters the base of the torch. Tightened the ground, the ground cord, the connections at the machine, replaced the tip and the electrode, tightened the insulator, still the same issue. If somebody has had this issue, how do you tighten the connections? Is that the right response to the problem? Bruce? Mark? Many thanks.

Jerry, you may have broken a wire to the torch or burned through the cable inside the torch line. Lifting up rejoins the connection.

You will need to contact customer support for a new torch.

Thanks Mike. Checked the wire and hose entering the torch. No breaks or burns. I just sent email and voicemail to customer support.

    Jerry,

Somehow, my post got posted in mike's name.

But after re reading it, it sounds as if your hose is pinched or collapsed internally if there is no air coming through. Can you hear the solenoid engaging?

Most likely you will need a new torch, so give a call on Monday to sales and they should send you one out.
