Thread: 280 STH .. Anybody tried one ????

  1. Default 280 STH .. Anybody tried one ????

    Needing a good 6010/7018 stick machine, that I can also DC tig carbon/stainless with...The 280 STH sounds like the ticket...My little 160 STH just doesnt like 6010's...( I love it by the way..Sweet little machine for what it's intended for))...Does anyone have any experience with them.. being fairly new & all...Wana be able to 6010 or tig root then run out with 7018 in plant....And I wana hook a CK flex-lock to it.......Any special dinse I have to ask for??? .....Thanks for any opinions gang.....

    The part numbers may have changed since they were last posted here. (SL2-35LG or SL2-35QD) Your best bet is to just call Everlast and they will set you up with the proper adapter. Everlast is a CK dealer and they have packages all pre-configured to plug and play with their machines.

    I've had an early prebuild unit. It welds TIG nicely. Stick welding is good too, but we had to make an adjustment as the OCV was through the roof at 107V. I could burn through 1/4" wall pipe at 60 amps with an arc force setting of 20% with a 3/32 6010!!! Welds smooth other than that. lol. Shouldn't be an issue on production units, but if it is, it is/was a relatively easy fix...and I have 9 extra resistors if one is needed. lol.

    Thanks Ram & Mark......Have they come out for sale yet ??? With the fix that is...?????..This sounds like its gona give the CST a real run for the prize....I'm dyin to hear some good news...My pockets smokin & about to catch fire......

    These units are out of stock. More will be in shortly in the next few weeks. The resistor value was discovered at the factory about the time we received our preproduction units as they test too simultaneously. The production units incorporated the revision . Shouldn't be any issues.
