Thread: PowerTig 250ex

  1. Default PowerTig 250ex

I posted over in the multi process forum but with my question answered about whether to go with the PP256 or the PT 250ex, I am posting here.

I will be doing 1/4" 6061 aluminum on trailers and was wondering if anybody was doing 1/4" or thicker and how it was going? Any pics of your welds?

I use the 250ex at my machine shop for welding heads and aluminum brackets will weld a 1 inch thick altinator bracket with no problem at all. Heads are like welding 1 inch or thicker aluminum so I really love the 250 for my shop. If want more kick also could use 25 helium and 75 argon mix tanks .the 250 dont like 50 /50 mix but works perfect with the 25/ 75 mix.
