Thread: Multi Process and torch cooler

Default Multi Process and torch cooler

Hi folks, just purchased a 256. I will purchase a water cooler for it and was wondering how people have connected both the welder and water cooler to the 240 line circuit?

The 256 does not have the auxiliary power outlet on the back, but comes with a water cooled torch. Did you run both power cords back to two different outlets? Splice the cords? Junction box?

    Thanks!

The water cooler pulls a teeny, tiny amount of amps...

My suggestion is to double gang an outlet off the same cord.

This will allow you to have both units plugged into the same circuit at the same time. It should not add appreciatively to the electrical load on the circuit. It will also give you an additional circuit to use without plugging and unplugging when the water cooler is not in use, i.e. when plasma cutting.

Thanks, that's what I was learning to, I'll fasten an outlet box to the cart.

Just so we are on the same page the water cooler is 220V. I wasn't sure if that was made clear.
