Default Wanting to trade a 250EX for a Powertig 185DV.

I really need a machine that is capable of running on 110V. I am looking to trade my older 250EX for a Powertig 185. I'd only want to trade the boxes straight up. I don't have any need for anything else. I am located in the NYC/NNJ area, but can and will travel a good ways to trade in person, but I wouldn't mind shipping, either.

I can be contacted via email (beaverbuilds@gmail.com) if you are interested.
Not so obvious and ruthlessly odd.

Your first post if you were to sell the 250EX what are you looking for out of it and Welcome to the forum.

Hmmm . . . I thought I had posted some back when I first joined the forum just prior to my initial purchase of the 250EX, which as you can see was in 2011. Thanks for the welcome.

If I were to sell it, I'd like to get $900 plus the cost of shipping. Basically, the price of a 185DV. If that is too much to ask, that's fine, but I am basically not wanting to come out of pocket too much to end up with a TIG box I can use more frequently; the 185DV being the perfect basic box for my needs. I really do love the simple adjustability of the 250EX for fine tuning the AC arc for the fix-it work I do, but, again, it isn't really necessary and right now I value doing more versus having to wait to get things stuck together.

I think you'd probably get more than that out of it. But I'd put it at 1300 or better. You could then get the 200DV. This would give you extra power, and also give you the pulse and stuff. Prices do seem to hold on these units pretty well, so I'd look into listing it on Ebay. Start the bidding 500.00 and put your reserve at 900, then see what you can get.

I didn't know they help their value that well. The thing is I'd rather have a simpler machine I can use more often. I figured this kind of deal might appeal to someone more than just trying to sell it, as I generally prefer to barter.

    Thanks for the helpful information!

They do. Many cases of units reaching high values on Ebay and locally. The 200DV is a simpler unit but offers dual voltage and better duty cycle.

Wouldn't hurt to blow off the dust before photographing. It does look in great shape. Good luck on your sale.

You are absolutely correct. However, I didn't take the photos, as the box is currently in the basement of a friend's house.

Thanks! I also hope the sale goes well. I'd like to get practicing to pass some pipe tests.
