Default Tack weld an Exhaust Plug?

Hi all. I probably know the answer to this. Just wanted to kick around the idea. Before it happens again. Here is my Story:

Boy did I get Lucky today. While coming back from Browns Mills my Motorcycle suffered a malfunction. The O2 Sensor Plug fell out of the exhaust pipe. Over on Browns Mills/Cookstown Road. Another motorcycle rider stopped to help me. Couldn't find it. I "Limped" my way to Bordentown to get gas. Then to my fathers house. Went to HD and Lowes looking for a M18 1.5 Plug to replace it. Ended up at Advance Auto at the White Horse Circle. They had what I needed. Got home and installed. I may use my welder and tack it so it doesn't come loose again.

My Motorcycle doesn't have an O2 sensor. It has a Plug in its place. Can I Tack Weld this so it doesn't happen again? The Pipe is Stainless Steel. Copper Gasket. Not sure about the Oil Drain Plug I had to use. As I couldn't find a M18, 1.5 Plug.

    Thanks

Is there anyway you can put a lock wire on it most of the exhaust pipes I do I put a tab on it or find a place to put the wire. Just drill a hole in the plug and find a place for the wire or make one.

Guess I could do that. Have to use my drill press. Not sure if I have any Safety Wire laying around. Just wrap it around the pipe

    Blue Loctite?

Or Red if you want a more permanent solution...

It would be too hot for locktight to work. Locktight breaks loose at about 350 deg. I would do what Kempy said and put a safety wire on it.

Due to the weather this week, I'm not in a big rush. I may just get another and drill it. Incase I run into problems. Thanks

That is better then have it blow out copper wire works if you don't have stainless wire.
