    Vaporized that resistor completely.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

yeah it was laying in the bottom of the welder

But realize, that resistor isn't the problem, it's a symptom so, don't just go replacing it...

Too much current was flowing through the resistor for a reason, you gotta find-out what that reason was for it to be "fixed"!

Yeah, That's something you'll need to send in. Not much to say otherwise than I hate it happened, but that's why I don't recommend them for the average user. Portable repair and factory maintenance yes. That's the plasma side of the board definitely.

I am not sure what causes that to happen other than something hung? Mike may be able to explain it better than I can. Ray probably knows, but he seldom gets to check in these days. The 205S is pretty stable.

Anything particular you were doing when it happened? Don't worry, whatever was should be covered under warranty.

Mark's right, probably an IGBT latched up. Routed all that power to the poor little resistor. But it will need to come in for repair. A lot of times, it takes them all out, though there was only a burn in the one spot.

Call in for Ray for an RMA #. Not something that can be fixed in the field.

Funny, I recall that clip from back when I was a kid...
