  1. Exclamation my power pro exploded

    while trying to use the plasma cutter i noticed the whole machine tripped out, i unplugged the leads and tryed to restart and thought someone had shot a 9mm ,it had tripped again. i blow dry air in it thinking it may be a moisture issue and tried it again this time it came on for just a minute then tripped out again.took the cover off and found a burnt spot on left side. this machine is only a year and 3 months old.can a everlast tech please help i dont want to loose my welder for a month or three due to shipping.hoping to fix myself with some guidenceClick image for larger version.

    Vaporized that resistor completely.
    Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

    yeah it was laying in the bottom of the welder

    But realize, that resistor isn't the problem, it's a symptom so, don't just go replacing it...

    Too much current was flowing through the resistor for a reason, you gotta find-out what that reason was for it to be "fixed"!

    Yeah, That's something you'll need to send in. Not much to say otherwise than I hate it happened, but that's why I don't recommend them for the average user. Portable repair and factory maintenance yes. That's the plasma side of the board definitely.
