Thread: swapping torches

  1. Default swapping torches

Hey, I'm new to the forums. I have a procut50 and it's blue it stead of green?... I'm guessing it's pretty much the same as the supercut 50. I was wondering about swapping the torches out for one that has a trigger instead of the button on top. It's set up just like the super cut. Threaded lead with air through, 2 pin switch, and the pilot arc stud on the front. Are there any compatible torches?

It should work, but the torch itself would be a separate purchase.

Yea I figured I would have to order one. It's got the ag 60 now. And the bottom on top is a real pain for cutting out designs like radiator relocation. .. for just cutting lines its decent... but i prefer trigger style torches. What would I need to order?

Another option is to make up a foot switch or other remote switch. Real handy for getting into tight locations and awkward torch holding. Like when working under a car where you might not be able to keep your finger on a switch while you move the torch.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

That wouldn't be a bad idea! Just take the wires out of the handle and make a spring loaded contact pedal. But I still prefer a trigger.

If your torch has the separate plug for the switch, you can just get another plug from an electronics supply and wire up a switch. Then it's easy to swap back and forth as needed. That was one of the advantages of the real early type of torches with the zip tied trigger switches, you could rotate them to any position or even remove and use remotely.

It doesn't seem like you got a good answer to your question. I also would like a trigger torch for my Supercut 50P. Did you find something that would work?

To clarify, only a HF torch will work. Not a blowback...there are Trafimet HF torches out there that have triggers. But do not expect an S series torch to work.
