Looking for a new TIG welder.

I previously owned a older model 200DX. Great welder. Friend needed it more than I did, so I sold it.

Now, I'm looking for a new one.

I don't think I need another 200DX. And looking for something more simpler. Even though, I "would" go with another 200DX, but I don't like the new digital models. I really enjoyed the analog stuff.

I was thinking about maybe a I-TIG 200, and just adding a foot pedal.

Thoughts?

The ITIG 200 is DC only. Is that a limitation for you? The PowerTIG 185 is analog AD / DC, and available in dual voltage. A touch less max output, though.

I would get another 200DX, things are always getting better at Everlast. Or step down to the ITIG-185 and save some cash.

I'm leaning towards a 185. As long as the 185 has A/C balance, I'm good. Don't need all kinds of power. I'm just a hobby welder.

Emailed for a quote on a 185 and a SSC foot pedal. And I have the CK torch from my old machine. Just need to get a longer ground lead this time.

Go to your local welding supply store and buy #2 welding lead (not 2/0) in the length you want for your work clamp. It's easy to replace with your original dinse connector and clamp or you could upgrade the clamp.
