Thread: Power Tig 200 DX trouble (Current alarm and no arc)

  1. Default Power Tig 200 DX trouble (Current alarm and no arc)

Hello guys, I'm new to the forum but I've had a 200DX since about March of last year. Yesterday I was welding on some aluminum and the machine quit welding. I had a current alarm on the front panel. There is still a minimal arc but not usable. I called tech support and explained what happened and was told that I will have to send it in for repair. I asked about the turn around and he said right now they are looking at 6 to 8 weeks. Not to mention I have to pay shipping both ways. My question is, has anyone had this happen and is there anything I can check prior to sending my unit in for repair.

You could talk with Mike. (PM him first at everlast support). He's pretty good at on the phone diagnosis and if possible repair rather than sending it in. Of course, it is very likely that you will if that is indeed the issue. If you have the skills it is possible to make some repairs.

Sammy just be sure not to do anything that will void your warranty.

Thanks but now I have to show my ignorance. I haven't been active on many forums and not sure how to go about PMing. Mark advised I should PM Mike but how do I find him to send a PM?

Here's one way: in the upper right corner of your screen, click the Notifications link. A little window opens; then click Inbox. That gets you to your inbox, where you can click the link for Send New Message, along the left border of your screen. In the Recipient box start typing in Mike's screen name, EverlastSupport.

Good luck with it, I hope it's something you can fix on the phone with Mike.
