Thread: no post flow (210 ext)

  1. Default no post flow (210 ext)

Ive had my powertig 210 ext for a year or two now and it has worked great till recently. I started noticing there was no post flow after ending a weld. I checked my settings it was set for 9 sec. of post flow. It does it in ac and dc modes and it seems like when i have the foot pedal to the floor and release it real quick i get post flow about 75% of the time it doesnt all ways work. has anyone else had this problem ?

Have you tried changing the post flow setting? Maybe run it to zero, cycle it a few times, and then reset it to the desired time, and see if that clears things out. I don't think there is a software reset on that machine, but it wouldn't hurt to give tech support a call. They might have a solution for you.

Yes, give tech support a call at ext 207. It could be your pedal isn't returning all the way to off.

I unplugged the foot pedal and plugged in the torch switch and it worked fine , so i called tech support and ray said send it in its probably something in the machine.

Still sounds like pedal to me. Did you check it with an ohm meter to see if when you let up slow is pin 1-3 opening up? Ray's the man, but I would check that.

Wouldn't that give something like a never ending post flow? From what he says, it sounds like the argon flow stops right away. But for sure with it working with the torch switch and not with the pedal, I would thoroughly check out the pedal for all wiring and values, before sending the whole unit in.

This is from a previous post in the Technical section. You can find most of the pinouts there.

No, the releasing it real quick sounds like a malfunctioning switch which triggers the post flow cycle when it is recycled.
