Thread: Everlast MTS 200 1 lb. Spool Adapter

  1. Default Everlast MTS 200 1 lb. Spool Adapter

Here are some photos and drawings to construct a 1 pound wire spool adapter that I made for my Everlast MTS 200. I used a 2" schedule 40 galvanized pipe nipple from Home Depot and cut it to length, and some 1X3/16" cold rolled steel for the flat bracket. It works great I you have to use the small wire spools.

Looks like you could just remove #15 and run the 1lb spool on the shaft in normal fashion. Click image for larger version.

I tried that but the resin material that they use is so brittle that it that it broke the bushing. American units that I use at work use a PVC plastic that is very durable. It took Everlast over two months to send a new part. I ended up fabing a bushing from steel while waiting. Also the adapter is a much faster way of changing spools. Another point is that the welder is not designed for the small spools even though one brochure states that is is. I called their tech support and they stated that it is not designed to accept the small spools.
