Thread: SuperCut 50 IGBT worth fixing?

  1. Default SuperCut 50 IGBT worth fixing?

    Hello!
I have a SuperCut 50 IGBT. I am having issues with it cutting an inch or too, then it stops cutting. It sparks, makes loud pops, but no cut. It also seems to struggle on 1/4 " inch mild steel now. I checked the gap inside and it seems ok. I have a large desiccant moisture removal system. Torch is new. Eats consumables like crazy. Unit is about 5-6 years old.

I am wondering if this unit is worth bothering to have fixed. Seems like I have an odd unit, since it is IGBT.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

No SuperCuts are IGBT. The logo we use for Everlast has IGBT inverter technology in it as that is what we concentrate on as a company.

If its just a plain supercut, then you have to drag start and pretty much drag it to keep running. What torch are you running on it?
