    Default Superultra 205 initial review

I drove from Oshawa to Burlington(not fun) to pick up a new 520 package. Upon arriving, I was informed that it was now the superultra 205,and that there are some drastic(in a good way) changes to the equipment in the package. Improved foot pedal, higher amp plasma torch, different stinger, etc. Also got to see some neat examples of what these machines can do. All in all a good experience that made the slow drive there and back worth it.
Set the machine up,did some rewiring in my garage, fired up the stick welder and realized immediately that the machine I had just sold really was crappy compared to this. Smooth arc start very controllable arc, and I even got my wife to try it out (she has never touched a welder, ever) and she got the same basic result I got with some coaching from me.
Tried out the plasma and was equally impressed with the smooth operation and the power. I was writing words in schedule 40 pipe in no time.
One thing I did discover was the air regulator mount bracket was WAY too close to the inlet pipe, I will be making a modified bracket to move it over and guard it more and I will provide pics when I make it.
Thanks for the excellent service and equipment, cant wait to get the tig up and running!

Oshawa to Burlington is not that bad. I used to go up to the Raglands for some Offroading years ago. Last time i was up there i was representing the OF4WD doing a clean up with the Ministry. Been to a few Board meetings over the last year up in your neck of the woods as well.
When you do hook up the Argon for TIG you will be impressed with the performance. Drop me a line in the next couple of weeks and i can let you know about the options i will be getting for different types of TIG Torches for your unit.
    Cheers

Yup,the tig is excellent. Smooth start,I forgot its not hf and was waiting for the buzz and blew a hole through the stainless strip (oops). I said I could weld,I never claimed to be perfect(it would be no fun anyway) just went back after and filled it in with filler rod. Makes a nice clean smooth weld or I can make it look like the edge of a nickel. Power up and down is smooth and very consistent, and the end is very easy to control after only two tries. The worst part is I had to go to work today after a week off and I wont have time to play for a while. The best part is that work gives me more time to come up with projects for my new welder! Thanks again, and you will be hearing from me soon. Almost forgot, the last time I drove to Burlington was about eighteen years ago and if memory serves, it took way less time than it does now

Can you give me an idea of what you want for pics ie do you want pics of welds ,products made, step by step? Do you want pics or video and do you need an article to go with it? Do you want a picture breakdown of machine set up and use, pics of settings etc? if you want email me at robsmobilewelding@hotmail.com

To make it clear, Everlast USA doesn't offer the same programs of consumables any longer.
