Default PP 256S stuck at high amperage

Well, the trusty old Everlast has let me down. I saw there was another thread about this but wanted to start a new one as I am not sure they are the same problem and I am not a EE. I have a 2010 Power Pro 256S that I received as a gift of sorts and has worked fine, up until now. I was welding an .050 alum fuel tank and was about done when the amperage suddenly spiked to 257 (around there anyway) and will not come down no matter what I have tried. I was running high speed pulse and using a foot pedal at the time. I do not have a snap start, just pedal, and everything is factory. While the machine will welds it is like it is set on 4T as when I first push the pedal it is a high amperage but when I let off it spikes for maybe half a second give or take and shuts off. Is there anything I can try or look at before I write the machine off? Any help would be appreciated!

Did you try unplugging the pedal?

    Blaster,
I did unplug it but the display stayed the same. I unplugged the machine, switched off the breaker at wall and nothing. I just hope it is a temporary glitch because I have more alum work to do tonight.

Quick update. I also found out that the HF does not work on DC for some reason but it will light up is I use it as a lift arc torch. I have been busy but need this thing fixed. I guess I need to call Everlast tech support as well.

Likely you have a foot pedal issue, and or a point gap issue.
