Thread: Pro 256 no HF (high frequency) start

  1. Default Pro 256 no HF (high frequency) start

I get a good arc at the contact points when the machine first powers on, but no contact arcing or HF when I use the pedal.

Just got off the phone with tech support, who had me turn the pre-flow down to zero, which did nothing to help. I was then issued a return authorization number.

Is there anything else I should check or try before turning my welder over for 2+weeks and paying a buttload of shipping?

Check the switch in the pedal at the plug. Does the gas flow start as expected? Did you try the torch switch instead of the pedal? Does it weld normally with lift start?
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
