Thread: PP205 Plasma consumables

  1. Default PP205 Plasma consumables

The S45 plasma gun looks like it came stock with the .9 tips, I see the .8 tips are very common, not so much with the .9 Any issue with using a .8 tip? What would it change?

Can you use drag tips with this gun? Flat tips with an raised outer ring.

    Thanks

The S45 is not used with the 205 any longer. But you can drag either torch under 30 amps. The smaller consumable limits the amperage that you should use. You should use 30-40 amps or slightly less, certainly no more.

What is being used? Is there an upgrade I can get for this machine?

PT 60. Yes, you can buy them.

Is the PT60 considered a better torch? It looks like you lose the pilot arc function? Trying to figure out if I would need the threaded version or not...what is the DINSE connector...don't see that term in the manual anywhere?

Much better. It's designed (as far as I can tell) and built by the same company that manufactures Lincoln's torches...or along the same patent lines as the only difference in major design is the way the electrode connects and the air tube (which we do have in the larger torch PT80). It has a pilot arc, as any blow back style has.

Sounds good, the PT80 would be too big for the PP205 right? Do I need the 'threaded' or 'central' version? Anything else needed to make the PT connect to the 205..I don't see a picture of the PT-60 on the website, is it bundled with all the connectors like the S45?

Hi Mark, not sure if you saw my last questions on which one to get. Thanks Brian
