Thread: Looking for stolen Powertig DX200

  1. Default Looking for stolen Powertig DX200

This was stolen a few years ago (~2012)and haven't had the money to replace it. I bought the 200DX brand new from Everlast.

I'm still really bummed about this loss, I only had about 25 minutes of arc time on the thing and it was taken from my garage in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I search pawn shops and kijiji / CL but to this day have not found anything. I think it was a targeted robbery since no one knew I had it and am usually very cautious to open the garage doors for the world to snoop. The welder is the only thing they took.

    Details:
Everlast Power Tig 200DX S/N 155700424 I still have the receipt and operating instructions to prove its mine.
It was sitting on a nice custom built rolling cart painted black and mesh shelves. It was made of 1.5" square tube I believe with some nice mitred corners.

It's the old style DX with a bunch of knobs (not buttons)
When they stole it they unthreaded the gas line from the regulator, leaving the regulator screwed into the bottle and the line connected to the machine. So they obviously we're not "welding savvy"

It's a long shot but if you have seen anything in the Alberta area I would really appreciate it. Possibly work out a reward.

I am in your area and will look out for it,,,but I think I have a better chance of winning the lotto than running across it....been ripped off out of my garage and it really ticks me off,,,got to the point where I set up game trail cams in my shop and garage,,,they will probably take those too...my standard reward for information identifying the culprits is $100.00 if you report them to the police,,,and $500.00 if you just tell me and forget about telling me...I'll take from there...

my brother had problems with people stealing jerry cans of gas out of his truck...so he left a can half full of water and half gas....yep,,,we knew who it was,,a local group of neer do wells....who spent many many days trying to get their pickup to run,,,it's tough to drain the tank and flush the fuel injector lines with that much water in the tank,,,,we used to drive by their place and laugh,,,cause they thought it was an electrical problem...
Some of those lies people tell about me, are true

    Thanks Geezer.
Yes i would be willing to pay a reward if anything comes about.
I have since moved to Calgary and now have cameras at my new place, also keep a baseball bat and shotgun close by.. I really really hate people who take things from a person who works hard to earn them. I have no sympathy for it either, if they ask for help on the other hand I am more than happy.

Snowdaze,,you misunderstood me,,,I don't need a reward for doing the right thing,,,as far as a baseball bat and shotgun goes..,that sounds so American,,,I have my own ways of extracting justice on bad people,,,

Well I did grow up in Detroit, and I'm not in a great part of town.
At the end of the day I just want my welder back.
