Thread: Not really a project, but picked up the M100 motor guard

Default Not really a project, but picked up the M100 motor guard

Been hearing and thinking about the motor guard after the wholehouse DIY unit grenaded on me. I liked the idea of 1/2" to hope for a little more volume. Went the way Zoama did.

Bought the M100 (1/2" and three filters) off amazon $69. Picked up adapter/reducers at home depot (lowes has them too). Now I just need a project to test it on. Won't be long I am sure.

Not sure what the difference between the M-24 and the M-30 are.... (looking at the box).... I picked up the M-24 at the LWS and mounted it straight to my cart.... does anyone use this inline with their Argon? (I purchased it for the plasma cutter but was just curious)

I have not tried it with Argon, but a good idea. I think the 24 is 1/2" and 30 is 1/2"

The 24 and the 30 has 1/4 input and output..... but it has a nice bracket to mount it to the cart.....

    What exactly happened to it?

I don't think a bypass oil filter is capable of preventing a catastrophic engine failure.

This is an air drier. The brand name is Motor Guard and has nothing to do with oil or engine use. It removes water from compressed air, in this case to make plasma cutter consumables last longer. He made one from plastic first, that one burst (grenaded).

OK, the MotorGuard I see all the time is a bypass oil filter, hence the confusion.
It looks nearly identical (It may even be the same product in a different box)
