7 pin connector source

I would like to purchase a few of the 7 pin connectors for the 256 torch/pedal. I've been to Mouser and Digi Key, but there are thousands of them, any one have a part number?

I've purchased few off eBay in the hopes they would fit, but no joy. The Everlast connectors are larger in diameter than the standard 7 pin mic connectors sold there. The Everlast black plastic part is 15.5mm in diameter.

I've had a couple people tell me Radio Shack had them. The local one here did not, but I bought one that was close and just used the females connectors and crimped them on the wire of a torch remote I wanted to test. Not attractive, but works fine. Used the pin connectors without the plastic holder.

I've now spent three weeks looking for these connectors. Everyone including EBay, Radio Shack Digi-Key etc. have the smaller 7 pin connector which is universally accepted as a microphone connector. My understanding is this is what was originally used on Everlast machines but has since been changed to a version that is slightly larger (IGBTmachines). I have been to over 12 LARGE electronics shops from Charlotte NC to Greenville SC with a used connector in hand and have had no luck locating a replacement. All the shop owners and parts guys first question is, "who made it"? I respond that it is asian and they go glassy eyed. The usual response is yeah, everything is. But who specifically? They indicate the exterior markings aren't familiar nor do they display any part numbers. I've contacted E'last and they sent out a connector that was dyked off of an old used torch (not what I had in mind for 10 bucks, to say the least.). The problem with this approach is that I need one from a foot pedal. The Torch version doesn't have the metal connectors installed and some of the pin holes are blanked off so you couldn't install the connectors in the holes even if you could source them. Yes, another avenue I explored . I don't do temporary/jerry rigged and I don't want to change out the male connector on the welder. This is becoming Very VERY frustrating.

I haven't had any luck either. This sort of thing makes me want to swap the panel connector on the welder out with something more standard and easily sourced.

what's the connecter for i get it's for the torch but what model. i'd rather dig up info before i run into something that has already been brought up

I just took a look. Did not see them either. The ebay ones are standard 7 pin round DIN, like on Jakeru's Super 200P. They will not work, his unit is probably 3 years old and we change the connector some time ago. We did use that type at one time.

I mailed the main office to see if we can't stock up on a few, will see what happens. Maybe Duncan can get some if he is still at the factory.

Anyway, let's see what happened. I can see how many pedals I have and probably cut a few off. I have done that in the past, but not looking for more work. Other option is just un-solder the one from your current foot pedal or torch (depending on what you are converting). You can always move it back if needed.

This looks almost identical to the connector on a PP256. I don't know if its exact or what your looking for. Maybe because you were looking for a "DIN" connector you couldn t find it. DIN is a sizing standard which does not apply to these connectors. To my untrained eye, I think you may have found the mysterious IGBT machine connector! I do recall it had its 7 pins arranged in a "hexagon" orientation, whereas the older Mosfet machine connector had a wider space between its top 2 pins.
