Hello, new to the forum here
I purchased an everlast dx200 about a year ago. I have very low hours on the unit. The other night I was welding mild steel on a 100 amp setting or so. The arc started to die out on me intermittently, and then would come back up. I stopped welding for a few hours and went back at it later in the day. When I went to strike an arc again, it instantly fused the steel together. I watched my amperage as I touched the foot pedal and it was jumping up to 330 amps. The torch itself was making a high pitch whine as well. Is there something inside the machine that may be gone. I tried going over my settings and everything looks good. Nothing has changed besides the fact that I have no heat control whatsoever. Anyone else ever experience this?
