Thread: arc pig (w. 200DX)?

  1. Default arc pig (w. 200DX)?

    Hello all,
I have a 200DX (which I'm very happy with) which I'm considering using it in its stick/arc welding mode. I'm new to arc welding and I'm having trouble w. 3/32" 6010 rods sticking unless I up the amperage to too-high levels (+80 amps). I'm considering the Arc Pig attachment at $350 so that I can get easier starts and weld at lower amps. Any problems attaching the Arc Pig, or any other advice?

That machine will have trouble with 6010. Switch to 6011 and things will go a lot better. Inverters typically need a special mode or port to work well with 6010.

You already have all the features the ArcPig provides. (HF start) It is just not used when in stick mode.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!
