Ex-Navy Ship-Fitter / Retired Contractor. Finally at that sweet spot in life, where I can spend time working on my favorite projects, instead of working for people on theirs.

Although I have more hand / power tools than I have garages to put them in, I only have one welder, (an 80's Monkey Ward 220v AC / DC beasty) and my Oxy-Acetylene torch kit. Just put a 10 x 20 slab in with its own 100 amp service, and boy is it lonely.

I bought the wife a new Jeep Rubicon last year, only to find out it evidently came with all defective parts, because she is constantly pulling stuff off to put on bigger and better ones. I figured this was a loosing battle, so just started keeping track of what I was spending on it instead of complaining.

Now armed with the facts, it is easy to see I am going to be able to fit my lonely slab with all the things it is missing, Mig, Tig, Plasma, Welding Table, and a huge-mongus metal rack, loaded for bear, with steel so I can build me a bunch of cool things like I see in everyone's shops on here.

I really appreciate all the information here on the forums, I had no idea where to start before I found this place, now I have no idea where to stop

Welcome to the site. It sounds like you spent quite a wad on that Rubicon. I was retired for a year, got bored and started working for myself . I sounds like you will have yourself a nice shop. I was like you, had more tools than places to put them. I have been improving my 28x32 shop as I go. Man is it expensive to get organized.
