    Default When PM256 will ship?

Still waiting for notice of when a PM256, that I ordered (and paid for)May 3rd, will be shipped.Any reason for delay? Last I heard by phone, on May26th, was that 50 were on your loading dock waiting for UPS truck. Still haven't received any email with tracking info of shipment. Starting to wonder what's up??

You will need to call the sales office, the forum is for tech support and we have no idea what is in stock or what is coming in. I asked about LX units yesterday and was told 2 weeks. Better if you call as that it a multi-process unit.

I can verify that my tracking info states that they were picked up at 8:56pm PST on the 26th and I should be receiving it tomorrow.

    Default When PM256 will ship?

Thanks for the response. I just sent the email that Oleg requested. I also will call sales today about this. I hope everyone had a fine Memorial Day weekend!

    Default It's on the way!

Just got UPS tracking # by phone,(email reply was just automatic and due to volume, said to call). UPS shows delivery date of 6-3-10. Looking forward to checking out this combo unit. Already built a nice compact cooler set-up for the water cooled torch using an automotive in-tank fuel pump and DC power supply. If this works as planned, I will try to post some pics along with initial impression of the PM256.

    Default Initial eval of PM256

I'd like to post a full evaluation but am waiting for a response from Alex to a missing 60 amp consumables kit that should have been shipped with the PM256 that I received as part of the agreed to price package when the order was placed. Anyway, I would like to mention a problem I found regarding the HF pilot arc terminal, that might explain problems other people have had regarding intermittent Plasma starting.
After using the plasma torch and disconnecting the cables, I noticed that the pilot arc terminal was loose on the front panel. I had to remove the cover ,to access and tighten the nut on the stud (added red Loctite to eliminate any repeat of this problem). This may be a common occurrence.

  8. Default Same issue!

Actually I'm glad that you posted this because I had a similar issue with this nut and I found a ground wire that connects to a screw on the inside left that had been crimped and cut. I opened up to tighten that nut and then fixed the ground in a matter of 10 min. So far I am really impressed with the SMAW functions and have only cut a few things. I did notice that the original electrode that was on my torch seemed corroded and it did not function very well until I put a new one on. After that it cut through some sheet metal I had without the erratic arc.

Dirty farmer thanks for the observation about the pilot arc. We can add that to our trouble shooting list, if Mike hasn't already made note of that prior.
