Default 2015 Powertig 185 - Foot pedal pot size clarification

    Hi All,

Ive recently purchased a Powertig 185 from Everlast Australia. Id like to upgrade the footpedal to a SSC one, Ive contacted Everlast Australia and was advised what i got with my welder is the best that they can provide in Australia.

I want to order a SSC pedal from the US but need to confirm the pot size before i do so.

The manual on the US website and AUS site for the 2013-Current PowerTig 185 all show 22k.. my foot pedal says 22k on it but then a person doing the same thing made a post stating tech support told him 22k is wrong and the machine uses 50k ? The 50k SSC pedal worked fine according to the post

The P/N on the foot pedal I received is FT-22k-CL and my PowerTig 185 foot pedal works via Panel Amps. The pot has "Rocket RV24YN 20S B203" written on it

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the pedal you have now works fine as far as the full amps and all. You can take a DVM, set it for ohms, and ohm it out. 4 and 5 I think it is. If you do not see the right ohms, hit 3 and 4. That will get your the pedal pot value without opening it.

As far as I know it has been 22k, but we did have some issues a while back with the factory changing the values. But now I believe we've adopted 22k officially for everything...though 47k will work or 22k will work with the new digital control models.

That B203 is a 20K log taper pot. The B means audio or logarithmic taper and the 203 = 20 with 3 more zeros so 20,000 ohms. So if that pedal has a good control range, just order a 22K.

    Thanks for confirming its 22k

Looks like I'll need to order a C925-0725 from someone who ships to Aus
