Use and abuse the heck out of my 255ext. Have not had any problems with the machine in the past 3 years or so that I have had it..

    Honestly,

In my opinion, you won't benefit much with upgrading if you're doing mostly 1/8" and 1/4" aluminum. I mean, you've got AC Frequency control on a 250EX, and that is probably as good as it gets.

I've got a 210EXT, which is much the same as the 255EXT, and I really dig it. But I do thinner stuff, and that's where the features of an EXT model becomes a benefit, like with the Triangle wave for thin aluminum.

Otherwise, I really like digital interface and schematic diagram on an EXT model. I like the memory ability of an EXT too.

Pop over to www.kevincaron.com to see my work.

    Or out to https://www.youtube.com/kevincaronsculpture.

I work mostly in steel with some aluminum now and again.

I have used the 255ext up to 3/4 inch steel and 1 inch with aluminum.

Did a copper goblet that was about 1/2 inch thick and the machine has never let me down..

I like as much overhead as I can get for pulse settings alone, cause most times your increasing total amps by a large margin. And I love the high amp 1/2 second burst for tacking

Watching a few videos on the 255 and although i dont NEED to have a 255.Doing different jobs at home i could see where having a machine like this would be beneficial in making a job a little easier and its just a great price on machine of this caliber.I might even look into the 325.
