PowerPlasma 50 torch upgrade?

I have an older blowback start PP50 with the purple S45 torch. Burned up one torch head late last year, replaced with another purple torch head but I am dissatisfied with the flimsiness of it and how the pins that touch the cup slip around and lose electrical contact, leading to issues with getting the arc started.

I see that the newer units are being sold with an IPT-60 torch. Is this torch a plug and play swap with my machine or is there some retrofitting involved?

Also, can I continue using my S45 consumables with this torch or would I need to buy IPT60 consumables?

You can spend the money and get a genuine trafimet. We also have repair kits for the torches now. The ipt60 is similarly made to the Trafimet...but is also very similarly made to other brands. Those pins can stick if not taken care of. I would not swap torches since they have some special requirements in timing etc. that are different than the S45. Factory says they will interchange, but I've seen blown fuses because of it.
