Thread: Consumables

  1. Default Consumables

I have a super ultra 205 machine and I'm wondering if consumables for a different plasma torch would work on the one that came with mine. It's an AG-60 plasma torch.

All I see is an SG-55 as a cross reference for parts. Cannot believe how cheap consumables are on Amazon and Ebay. I can only dream (PT-60 owner).

It was disappointing yesterday. I was trying to cut something yesterday with my machine and had the air at .2 kph or whatever and I was going through contact tips left and right. I've been using a plasma cutter for 10 yrs and have never done that. It was really odd. I never hit the material I was cutting with the tip either.

65 psi? not sure what .2kph is. What amperage and what diameter nozzle were you using? You weren't trying to cut with the pilot arc were you? Could you tell when the cutting arc kicked in? There are different quality levels of those consumables.

What are the part numbers for the absolute best consumables for the plasma torch that comes with that unit?

If you could answer the above questions, I can help recommend something, plus tell me what thickness and amps you were using.

As far as nozzle goes I was using whatever was sent with the original package, the amps I was set at 45 amps cutting 1/2" material. Yes I do know when the arc was licking in and not just using the pilot arc. Like I stated before this isn't the first plasma machine I've used.

What psi were you using? What diameter nozzles did you get?

Air pressure while cutting, not the static air pressure when idle. Was the air dry?

According to the directions that I got with my machine it states to keep it btwn .02kpa and .04 kpa. So I was trying to keep it at .02 kpa wasnt wanting to hurt the machine.
Here's what came with the machine

29 psi is way too low and the reason you're burning up consumables. Set the machine to 65 psi with the air flowing through the torch. Make sure you have dry air as any moisture will make sloppy cuts and rapidly wear consumables.
What country are you in ? We don't normally use kilopascals in the US. Here is a link to the proper manual http://www.everlastgenerators.com/si...tra%202014.pdf

You should download the USA manual from the Everlast website. It is much better than what comes in the box.
