Ran short circuit & stick flawlessly...went to turn it up an spray....wasnt quite gtn there..checked wire feed in 6 seconds..3 times..36 inches was average.....add the 0 & 360.....(75/25.....035 70s6..anyone kno what there machne is actually pumpin out???? Just curious if my feeder is bad or ???..Thanks for any input gang

I can only guess you have the imig 200 "E". As the "economy" version Everlast put the same wire feeder (speed wise) as the 140E welder, which is about 330 to 360. The Power Imig 200 (without the E) tops out at 600. I'm in the same boat with my 140E. AT 360 tops I can't quite get enough speed to spray .030" 4043 wire. I can't believe the cost would be that much more to change the wire speed. Frankly, doesn't quite get how the welding community is changing.

You can't meqsure wire speed that way on the 200. It is digitally controlled. It has a slow run in until the arc is started.

Whatever" the speed is..............It's just too slow.
You can get .035" 4043 to spray, but when you change to .030" 4043, you can't get enough wire speed to stop burn back and reducing the voltage keeps the wire below the ability to spray.
IN ADDITION..........I've talked to the Everlast guy's and they admit the "E" series runs in the 300+ range, because they are the "Economy" brand. With that said, the imig 200 (non E model) says in it’s specs the wire speed is up to 600 ipm, which will be my next welder.
Last, in no way am I trying to bad mouth these units. In fact, I keep shouting the 140e is by far the best 120v unit on the market. It is the lightest, smoothest running, and best priced 120v to date. Also, as you and I may talked, with a 30a breaker circuit I “CAN” spray 3/64” 4043 wire, contrary to what the general public refuses to believe. Of course, you can’t do this all day long, but “by definition” this is a home owner 120v machine and it should be used for “home owner” type small, short time repairs.

It should spray .030" with a spool gun. But it is at the limit due to the amp output of the unit. Amps are controlled completely by wire speed. You can't go past 140 amps and expect the unit to hold up. .035" in the welder sounds about right. I think the max wire speed is stated at 360 ipm officially.

You need to help me out. Unless I'm missing something it takes less power to spray thinner wire. So, if I can spray 3/64" and .035 wire, the reason I can't spray .030" is because I can't get the wire speed fast enough. And without faster wire speed there's not enough amperage to put the wire into spray mode. As the wire speed increases, the "short circuiting of the wire to the base metal happens faster and faster, raising the amperage, but without this happening fast enough the amperage doesn't become large enough. If this is incorrect, please tell me where.
My esab caddie 200 had a digital readout as you welded. At full wire speed the amperage with .025 wire would only increase to 125 amps, but with .035 wire at the same speed the amperage went over 200amps.

Doc.....You'll love the 200....Im runnin 252's & an older 210 blue at work..took this thing in the day after i got it to gas it up...It runs a better bead than the high dollar "industrial" welders......everyone was playin with it an liked it...Im truly impressed with it...just like my 160sth....This 200 runs 5p+++ better than my invertec 275s..7018 is the same....Play with the arc force an get the profile you want.....the green goblin is bad ###....

I talked with "Mark" from everlast "at length". Great guy. Anyway, on the way is a 2016 205 mig welder with spool gun. There are a bunch of improvements over the 2015 model. Can't wait............

Thanks Mark...I spoke with andrew and he said the same thing..When I fired it up..and actually struck the arc.there was a noticeable difference...Im playing with aluminum now.... .035 4043....Got the NEW spoolgun (200n)..they sent the 100 first go around...didnt know any different because you dont have pics of it.....It smoked in 10 minutes...Andrew was great...I dont know about these stories i hear about ####ty customer support...I've NEVER had a problem...The guys Ive dealt with were very professional......

Mark..Zoama..Doc ..Ram....I loaded a spool of 4043 today....Went to set the tension...It took very little tension to get it to curl on wood...Went to shut the cover & it would'nt close.....the hinge hits the black tension knob...had to really tighten it up to get it to close....Have any of you noticed or heard this?????..Also...can I run 3/64 or 1/16 in this spool gun (200n)..do I need u groove drive rolls...
