powerultra 205p pedal

sad, but true, been in n out of hospital pretty much since I bought my powerultra 205p. Anyway, question is, when in pedal mode, amps go from 0 - max based on pedal being pressed all the way, no matter what the knob is set at on the panel? is that the case? I know in panel mode I can set max amps. I thought if I set knob lets say 1/2 way, the pedal would only give 1/2 amps, even if pressed all the way. Do I need to make some kind of adjustable stop for the pedal to limit amps? Thanks for any info, like I said, havent been able to really fully check out the machine since I bought it.

On that model machine, it does not support limiting amps with the foot pedal, it merely substitutes for the amp control on the panel.

Darn, kinda what I thought. Will have to fab an adjustable stop for the pedal, and mark approx amps. Oh well, thanks for the quick reply.

Need to know value of pot, and whether linear or audio taper, etc. Any ideas out there?

Everlast had a pedal with that kind of limit pot for their early machines. There should be some schematics and values to get you started on this forum if you search back on pedals. For starters measure the existing pot in your pedal and use the same for your second pot. As it is being used as a voltage divider, you probably want linear, but that is personal preference. Audio might give you more granularity in the area you weld in. There are a lot of pedal mods listed here, everything from simple mechanical fixes, to arduino based controls to add features.

You can call Everlast. They might have some NOS in the warehouse. You might just have to change the plug if it's an older type. Probably easier to just add a pot to the pedal you have now, though.

Since your machine is dual voltage, the real easy way to cut max power about in half is to just run it on 120 volt when you do light work. No mods required.
