Thread: weld without water cooler

  1. Default weld without water cooler

Can I weld using the torch that came with my ex250 without it connected to a water cooler? I will be under 150 amps and will not be welding for long periods of time. thanks

It's not recommended. The easiest thing to do is get some plastic fittings and tubing at your local home center to adapt the torch water connection to your garden hose. This will be a total loss system where you drain the water away from your shop. It only takes a tiny bit of water to keep it cool. Many commercial shops use this method.

for a super cheap total loss setup get a ice maker kit with long plastic line, adapt in, and let long line evac far away somewhere.
