Thread: Issue with Power TIG 250EX

  1. Default Issue with Power TIG 250EX

    Hello all,
I have a Everlast Power TIG 250EX bought around this time in 2013. It's been a great machine. Just recently, when I am welding, when I throttle back with the foot peddle to stop welding, the current doesn't stop. Instead it still arcs at what I would guess is the minimum current the machine can deliver. To stop the arc, I have to pull the tig torch away from the base material. If I then bring the electrode up to the base material (and even touch it), no arc occurs. The machine is only used for TIG welding (both AC and DC).
Any thoughts on what has/is causing this? It's not the end of the world but it is annoying.

    Thanks

Foot pedal gear or belt has slipped or the micro switch is bent or mis adjusted. That is the most common cause of that issue.
