Hey fellas,
Just need a little info. My welder is now very finicky about the length of the tungsten. Short stick out no puddle just some little melting. Normal stick out runs fine. Lengthen it some it just digs into the metal, no puddle. I use to be able to vary the length depending on the work piece but now it's very finicky. Does it with the pedal and torch switch operation. I have no clue. All torch pieces have been changed out already. Thx!
Settings and material please. Sounds like something to do with gas to me, too. Can't think of anything in a power supply that would even care about stickout. Are you using a gas lens? The tungsten to workpiece distance matters, and needs to be right, but stickout can vary a lot with the right torch parts and gas settings with no problems.
