Thread: Trouble with torch on cnc

  1. Default Trouble with torch on cnc

Not sure if anybody else has had this problem. I have a PP60 I've built a cnc table for. It is all working good except, when the G-code tells the torch to fire it does through a solid state relay. When it comes to M05 the LED will shut off on the relay but torch does not. The torch will continue to fire until the relay is off and I pull the trigger button again and release it. It does this on 2T. Does anybody understand this am I missing a wire?

What type of SSR? You might want to try a conventional relay as you might be experiencing a latch-up condition.
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

Dennis, what model PP60 do you have - 60C or 60S? I have a PP60S that will be incorporated into a CNC plasma table I'm in the process of building (actually acquiring parts for now) and this thread naturally caught my attention. The only apparent difference from your description is I'll be using a machine torch (not the hand torch) with it. Where did you replace the solid state relay - in your PP60 or elsewhere?
