Thread: 200DX warranty!

  1. Default 200DX warranty!

I sent my machine in for repair going on 2 months now. I was told 2 weeks ago it was 3rd in line on the bench. Today I was told ,it is scheduled to be looked at. This process has been very smooth going up til now. What is the most concerning to me,is I purchased the machine 2 years ago,but have only used it less than 15 minutes. When I needed to use it, it stopped working ,and now it's been nearly 2 months and still have no machine. I am thinking I should have spent the money and got a miller.

Warranty is abysmal, you definitely should Not buy an Everlast welder if you can't be without it for 3-4 months.

BUT you kinda sound like you can though. I mean, 15min in 2yrs,,,,

Buy a Miller, pay twice as much for it, get it repaired Much more quickly for TWICE what it costs out of warranty.

When I say 15 min. It was less than 4" of weld. I am not saying millers don't fail, but in the 30 + years I worked in a custom equipment shop,we had over 40 millers and I only seen 1 break down. It was the newest machine we had. A different shopi worked in for a couple of years had some large everlast MIG machines, all of them worked well. That's why I bought the Everlast. I have a lincon 250 amp MIG machine that I do most of my work with,so that's why the TIG has not been used.

I bought my Everlast Tig machine used 4yrs ago (made in '11). I've welded for Many Hours (@ 25lbs of 1/8 4043 filler alone) at 250A without any trouble. Your problem really is an anomaly or Everlast wouldn't be as successful as they are.

That being said, their Warranty Repair sucks SO MUCH that anyone in business, anyone who depends on their welder, should have a back-up welder for their Everlast (but again, for the cost of a Miller you can buy TWO

I received a tracking number this evening .My machine is on its way home.

I received my welder ,Thursday. I have been busy and have not even opened the shipping box. As for the warranty,it was hassle free, but took close to 3 months from the time I shipped it,until I received it back. I hope there will be no more problems.

I opened the box today and hooked up the machine. The arc is very smooth. It seems better than it was when it was new,but only run a couple of beads with it until I had a problem. Hopefully this is fixed for good.

    Good,

    Now run that sucker!

I mean, I'm guessing that there are more Everlast 200DX/DV units out there than any other model of their TIG units. And I'm also guessing that your unit is probably the one run for the shortest time in any 2 year span.

So, how about we see some pics of some beads and the unit itself on a cart or however it's set up?

I would say you are right. I no longer work in a fab shop.I done that for over 30 years. I use this for those little projects that I never get around to doing. I also have a 250 amp MIG welder that I do most of my welding with.
