Thread: Hello from gold country CA

  1. Default Hello from gold country CA

    Hi All,
I started blacksmithing a couple of years ago and welding last year. My focus is on producing hand made hardware such as hinges, latches as well as grills and gates in addition to art. I will be adding the PowerPro 256Si and Powercool 300 to my arsenal this summer as the TIG/Plasma features will greatly expand my capabilities. I have spent the last 2 months researching welding equipment and finally decided that Everlast offers the best value with a great warranty and without the over inflated prices of blue or red.
Once I have all the other peripheral equipment I need I will buy the PowerPro. So far I have a portable plasma cutting table that sits over a tub filled with water from 911 Motorsports and a Miller folding welding table as well as air compressor. I am still looking for a welding cart that can support the 256Si along with the water cooler and gas bottle or two (about 150lbs plus weight of accessories/cords). The cart sold on your site looks a lot like the one I got on Amazon which maxes out at 100lbs., so my search for a reasonable priced cart continues.

Maybe a cart should be your first project with the new equipment? That way you can get exactly what you want.

    Welcome aboard Gunther.

Mark will have the specs on our cart, I know it is beefy. I built my cart, like Rambozo mentioned to you. Mine has a MIG, TIG and Plasma on it, hooks for leads/torches wide shelf for consumables. Fits through a standard door, though never needed that feature.

Build your own cart and you'll be happier with it. Here's my novice knock up. http://www.everlastgenerators.com/forums/showthread.php/5417-Welding-Cart-For-250EX-And-PP60-Plasma-Cutter-Boat-Project
