Thread: Everlast Advanced Pulse AC/DC MixTIG Welding Feature

  1. Default Everlast Advanced Pulse AC/DC MixTIG Welding Feature

    Yeah,

Maybe I'll get more ideal feedback here at the Everlast forum from other EXT model owners.

Anyway, I captured this quick video today. The YouTube text description goes like this:

"Christian Livingstone explores and demonstrates an advanced TIG welding feature that seems to be underutilized and not even very well understood, as he is only now, after owning his Everlast 210EXT for nearly three years, getting around to testing the Advanced Pulse feature, also known as MixTIG."

Nice video. Dud the advance ac give you the extra burn/heat as you expected? It would be interesting to see the heat effected zone.

I think it did add to getting a puddle quicker. But the 3/4" aluminum plate/bar stock may have been a bit of an extreme test for a 210 amp unit.

Aluminum doesn't show a heat affected/effected area or zone, just a cathodic etching area (cleaning action) of about 1/4" along the puddle.

I think if I would have spent more time testing the feature I could have learned even more about it. But even with this little bit of use, I am now more apt to utilized it where I want extra penetration. And I did get a lot prettier beads after using it more after that initial video capture.
