where are the 250 ex's
I have talked to three different sale people at everlast in the past two weeks, i don't need to post your names because you know who you are.
I am finally able to purchase a 250 ex, problem is you don't have any and i don't want any other machine. I'm being told your waiting for a shipment to come in, your 250 ex is selling faster than you can get them. This is great news for sales but not for buyers !!! I was going to buy a thermal arc yesterday because i cant get the 250 ex and quess what ? none of those are available either, so i sit in ponder do i wait for the 250 ex or keep looking for a deal on an ac tig machine ?
I have wanted the 250 ex since last year, I have done the research and feel it is the best bang for the buck and is user friendly. Now my concern has switched to worrying if and when i can get one (because of availability) will Everlast be able to back up a warranty in the event the machine is DOA or goes down later since they can't keep the machine in stock.
This thread is in know way meant to put everlast down, i would just like to see some honest delivery dates and meaningful number's on your ebay listings.

Fist,we have kept our oriority of keeping customers warranties up. That has not been an issue...
The units are in plentiful supply when they come in, but because we are promised dates for shipping and containerizing the order and the best we can do is make estimates based off the promises we receive on the other end. Those dates rarely hold up, but occasionally they do. Our factory is currently in transition to the expanded facilities and production has slowed. We have many customers content to wait, and even prepay for the units. Those get the priority in availability. The units are not in short supply in the broad spectrum of things, but they do sell rapidly when they come in and shipping and supply issues do arise when dealing over seas. We do have our Canadian distributors as well that back us up and we back them up conversely, in situations requiring it.
My suggestion is to get your name in "officially" so you can receive the unit as soon as they hit the docks. Otherwise, we will post the arrival as soon as it gets here. The ebay "numbers" are just a figure that is not able to be constantly updated on a day to day basis. If I were you, I would buy direct, either through the phone or online on our site and not through ebay if you want the best times and service. Good prices are available direct, or from your local dealer. Most times we have the auctions up there are many, many, MANY more in stock than the number shows, and it is a "estimate of the units available for ebay sale, since we do not devote our entire inventory to ebay sales. We use Ebay as an advertisement tool, and only a small percentage goes out through ebay. The rest are devoted to retail and dealer sales.

What Mark says is correct.
As the Canadian Distributor we are more than willing to ship units to US customers if the need arises. And in a situation as this with the 250EX models if a warranty issue came up we would ship the unit from here to avoid any delays.
The same thing is true for any parts the US may not have. As a example i shipped a solenoid out to a customer yesterday who is in the US.
And of course if we where in the same situation the reverse would happen.
We actually work very closely with each other and of course the end result is to keep improving the name Everlast.
I know the new stock for the US is due to arrive some time during the middle of next week .

Mark it's reasurring to see you post up so quickley to this site and the backup you have thru your canadian distributer. I talked with you last weekend when you called me back on your time and appreciate that. I really want a 250 EX machine im just skiddish towards the answers i have gotton about delivery dates from the home office.
If the machines come in next week i will buy one but i im not pre-paying anyone in this world for anything that does not have an item with an arrival date.
To reply in regards to EBAY, if you don't have it in stock don't advertize it !

Went through the same thing
MX I went though the same issue when I finally decided to purchase my PM/PP256. I finally called up and what do you know, they sold the last one a few days before. I was told a delivery date of almost a month away so I waited some more. Finally when I called them I was told that it really would be best to prepay as all prepaid orders get processed as soon as they get their shipment from the docks. So I went ahead and laid down the money and waited. 3 weeks later, a knock on my door, and a new welder was delivered. Stick and plasma work great (still haven't tigged) and just wish I had ordered earlier.

I also prepaid direct

Just to let MX know, I also prepaid over the phone thru Alex for a PM/PP256 that was out of stock at that time (May 3rd). BTW, I feel I got a great deal by ordering direct. I was more than a little anxious during the 4 weeks it took to arrive (June 3rd). But two or three calls to Everlast during that period, kept me updated as to a expected delivery date. If the 250EX is anything like the PP256, you won't be disappointed with it's quality or performance.
Yesterday, I made a total of over 12' worth of cuts on some old 1/4" mild steel, using up one tip and possible a second. I'll see later today.
