Thread: 50amp enough for 80s

  1. Default 50amp enough for 80s

New guy here, I’m in the market to purchase a new cutter and was looking at the 80s. I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were on trying to run the 80s on a 50 amp circuit. Possible or not? Wouldn’t be terribly hard to put a 60 amp circuit in. But if I can avoid it I will.

It pulls more than that at 80 amps. You need a 60S if you don't want the hassle.

Ok, will a 60amp circuit do the trick?

Yes. It will work. According to my manual it pulls 58 amp full bore.
