MTS 221 STi vs MTS 252 STi

Hey guys,

I’m new to the forum. Looking at turning green here and wanted some input. Not sure how much this topic has been beaten to death but as the title states, I’m a bit torn. I’m running a small shop and do intend on purchasing a water cooler. Am I better off to spend the extra $500 and have more than enough ‘room’ with duty cycle in the 252? Would love to hear about both machines if you own them. Thanks for your time.

I don't own either one, but the 252STi gets my vote for a shop setting.

The 221STi has a very good duty-cycle of 40% at max amps.

But the 252STi has a surprisingly higher duty-cycle of 60% at max amps.

The added spot timer on the 252STi might come in handy for a long series of tacks.

The 252STi is marked down in price right now, to $2499 (from $3149), plus shipping, via the Everlast website.
