Thread: Stinger and work clamp wire gauge?

  1. Default Stinger and work clamp wire gauge?

    I have a Power Arc i-TIG 200T.

I have no plans to stick weld with it and will only TIG weld.

Doesn't anybody what gauge the stinger and work clamp cables are?

I think I'll get another work clamp and put it on the stinger cable.

I'm going to guess it is 6 gauge, but I'm not certain and I don't see it marked anywhere.

I have 4 gauge jumper cables and some 8 gauge radio wire, but the insulation thickness may be throwing off my view.

I can measure the diameter after I remove the stinger.

I found an Everlast stinger replacement video.

I may have to put an eyelet on the end of the cable to attach a work clamp and I am trying to figure out the wire gauge size of the cable.

  2. Default

I bought a heavy duty cast bronze / brass work clamp, like the one that comes with the 210 EXT and will replace the stinger with it.

I bought a couple of threaded adapters for the argon quick release connection, so I can use some other, smaller TIG torches.
